Red Wings sign Ericsson to six-year extension

Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - The Detroit Red Wings signed defenseman Jonathan Ericsson to a six-year contract extension on Wednesday.

Ericsson has tallied one goal and four assists in 15 games this season.

For his career, Ericsson has played 292 games, all with the Red Wings, since making his NHL debut in 2007-08. He has scored 14 goals and recorded 48 assists.

The Swede was originally selected by Detroit with the last pick (291st overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
