Jennifer Flowers: Voter longevity

November 28, 2013

Forty years ago, one of the major developers of Cary laughed at me because I was an avid voter. He explained to me that my vote really did not matter for there was a “round table” of rich and powerful people who pulled the “strings,” and that I was only a “puppet.” His statement has angered me through the years. In the end, he might have been right. But I will not let go of my belief in America and the power of my voice. Anyway, he is dead, and I am alive at the polls – “pulling” my own strings.
