Towson, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Four McGlynn tallied a game-high 19 points to go along with five rebounds as the Towson Tigers completed an 84-59 rout of The Citadel Bulldogs in a non-conference tilt as part of the mainland portion of the Battle 4 Atlantis at SECU Arena.
Mike Burwell added 17 points and six assists for Towson (5-2) as it improved to 5-0 at home on the season. Marcus Damas chipped in 16 points while Jerrelle Benimon registered 13 points, five rebounds and two blocked shots for the Tigers.
The Citadel (3-5) was paced by Warren Sledge, who scored 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field in 17 minutes of action. Brian White contributed 10 points while Ashton Moore finished with eight points, seven rebounds and six assists. Moore was also responsible for seven of the Bulldogs' 15 turnovers.
Towson connected on 47 percent of its field goal attempts including 4-of-9 from 3-point range in the first half en route to a 39-25 lead at the intermission. The Bulldogs were limited to 40 percent shooting from the field in the opening 20 minutes of the contest.
The Citadel managed to make only 38.7 percent of its attempts from the floor after the break. The Tigers drained 9-of-14 free-throw tries in the second stanza to arrive at the 25-point decision.
Towson enjoyed a 48-33 edge in the rebounding battle and outscored the Bulldogs, 42-22, in the paint in the contest. The Tigers' starting five accounted for 65 of the team's 84 points.
