Two die in one-car accident on Lynn Road in Raleigh

From staff reportsNovember 30, 2013

— Two Raleigh men were killed Friday evening when the car they were in went out of control, hit a curb, left the road and struck three trees on Lynn Road in North Raleigh.

The driver, Logan Sloan Aronson of Raleigh, and his passenger, Edward Blake Tolley of Raleigh, both 23, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened about 7 p.m. near the intersection of Lynn and Lead Mine roads.

The speed limit on that part of Lynn Road is 45 mph, but police estimated that the 2003 Acura, headed westbound toward Lead Mine, was traveling 90 mph when it left the road.

The car was split by the impact with the first tree, and part of the vehicle caught fire.
