Athens Drive High School yearbook honored

The 2013 Athens Drive High School yearbook earned several awards from the N.C. Scholastic Media Association, including the Tar Heel Award.

Athens Drive High School’s 2013 yearbook, The Torch, won the Tar Heel Award, the N.C. Scholastic Media Association’s top award.

In the large schools category, the yearbook also won the All North Carolina award; first place in overall copy produced throughout the book and in overall layout; second in overall theme design, overall coverage and overall photography; and third place in cover design.

Individual yearbook staff members receiving honors were Kevin Lee, with an Honorable Mention in Feature Photograph; Sarah Hume, second place in Sports Spread Design; Yasmine Inaya, second place in Feature Spread Design; Riley Nociti, Honorable Mention in Feature Spread Design; and Kaanchee Gandhi, first place in Theme Spread Design and second place in Theme Copy.

The book also received a Gallery of Excellence Award from Walsworth Publishing.
