The N.C. Symphony and the N.C Master Chorale join forces for the second half of J.S. Bach’s glorious “Christmas Oratorio” Friday and Saturday in Raleigh’s Meymandi Concert Hall. The text for these three cantatas (meant for performance on separate church calendar days) recounts the naming of Jesus, the journey of the magi and the adoration by the magi. Four vocal soloists join conductor Grant Llewellyn for this holiday-themed concert. 8 p.m. $24-$75 (students $15). ncsymphony.org.
