Marcus Henry: Students, taxpayers pony up

December 6, 2013

I disagree with the writer of the Dec. 4 letter “Pawns in game.” It is not the athletes who are pawns. The non-athlete students and the taxpayers are the pawns.

Students and taxpayers are forced to pay hundreds of millions so billionaire team owners and rich sports boosters can build sports palaces without spending any of their own money.
