Cincinnati accepts Belk Bowl bid

December 7, 2013

Cincinnati’s Bearcats accepted a bid to return to Charlotte’s Belk Bowl on Friday.

Cincinnati (9-3) will play a team from the ACC in the bowl scheduled for Dec. 28 at 3:20 p.m. in Bank of America Stadium. The Bearcats beat Duke 48-34 in last season’s Belk Bowl.

Cincinnati finished second in the American Athletic Conference with a 6-2 record.

“We’re pleased to be going to Charlotte to play in the Belk Bowl,” said Cincinnati coach Tommy Tuberville in a statement. “It’s exciting and a tribute that the Belk Bowl has selected Cincinnati two years in a row.”

The Belk Bowl has the fifth pick of ACC teams, with most projections have that being North Carolina (6-6). Bowl matchups will be announced at 8:45 p.m. on ESPN. David Scott
