Vandora Springs Elementary School’s Fourth Grade Art Club is hosting its annual Empty Bowl Project this week.

Members of the art club have been making ceramic bowls that will be traded for nonperishable food items to be donated to the food pantry at Garner Area Ministries. Over the past seven years, the Empty Bowl Project as brought in more than 20,000 food items to serve the local community.

The public is invited to attend this year’s event (and bring food donations – 20 donated food items gets you one handmade bowl to take home) at the school, 1300 Vandora Springs Road in Garner, on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
