Teen gains look into medical career field

Cecile Saleh, a sophomore at Raleigh Charter High School, attended this year’s National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine at UNC-Chapel Hill.

High school students with strong academic achievement, leadership potential and an interest in a career in medicine were selected to attend one of 12 10-day sessions held nationwide. The sessions included information on public health, medical ethics and general practice; site visits; and a simulation in which students had to diagnose and form a treatment plan for a fictional patient.
