Recap: California vs. Nevada

Berkeley, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - David Kravish and Jabari Bird each scored 16 points as the California Golden Bears outlasted the Nevada Wolf Pack in a high-scoring affair, 92-84, at Haas Pavilion.

Justin Cobbs added 15 points and eight assists for Cal (7-4), which had lost three of its previous four contests. Richard Solomon and Tyrone Wallace netted 14 points apiece, while Jordan Matthews rounded out the balanced effort with 13 points.

For Nevada (4-6), Deonte Burton led all scorers with 26 points on 9-of-18 from the field to go with seven rebounds and five assists. Michael Perez shot 5- of-8 from 3-point range en route to 18 points, while Jerry Evans, Jr. also netted 18.

Nevada opened up the game red-hot, making 60.7 percent of its tries from the field in the first half, but it was just 2-of-3 from the free-throw line. Meanwhile, Cal shot 55.2 percent from the floor and had an busy, efficient stanza at the stripe (13-of-15) on its way to a 49-40 halftime lead.

The Golden Bears led throughout the second half, and while the Wolf Pack brought their deficit to just five midway through the frame on a Burton 3- pointer, Cal ended the threat with a quick 7-0 run. An 8-0 burst later in the frame put the game on ice for the home team.

Cal's bench scored 32 points on the evening, compared to just nine points for Nevada's reserves. The Golden Bears also won the turnover battle, 13-7.
