Raleigh police charge man stole bikes, wheels worth $52,700

— Three home burglaries in October netted five bicycles and two wheels worth a total of $52,700, according to warrants naming a man police arrested Wednesday.

Christain Daniel Browne, 27, for whom police had no permanent address, was charged with three counts of first-degree burglary and three counts of felony larceny after breaking and entering.

In the warrants, detectives charged that Browne broke into a house on Brewster Drive between 9:30 on Oct. 22 and 6 a.m. the next day and took a Trek custom bike valued at $14,700.

They also said he stole three bikes worth $21,000 from a Chesterfield Drive home Oct. 27-28 and a bike and two aluminum bike wheels with a total value of $17,000 from a house on Long and Winding Road on Oct. 15-16.

Browne was arrested near a Kmart store at 4500 Western Blvd. and held in lieu of $300,000 bail for a court appearance Wednesday.
