— A Cary man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter following a crash in Holly Springs last week.

Andrew Britton Wilson, 27, was northbound on South Main Street at 7:38 a.m. on Dec. 6. Another driver, Virginia Hiu Hung Yong, crossed in front of Wilson’s pick-up truck as she attempted to turn left from Old Adams Road onto South Main, according to the Holly Springs Police Department.

Yong died as a result of the crash, according to a police statement. Both drivers were alone. Yong, 44, was a resident of Holly Springs.

Police did not say why they found Wilson to be at fault.

“Involuntary manslaughter usually refers to an unintentional killing that results from recklessness or criminal negligence, or from an unlawful act that is a misdemeanor,” Chief John Herring wrote in an email.

Wilson is listed as a resident of Madison Avenue in Cary.
