Christopher Confessore, 49, of Willow Spring died Tuesday night of injuries suffered in the late-morning crash. The accident closed the highway from 11 a.m. until about 3:30 p.m. while troopers cleared the scene near Johnny Baker Road and investigated how it had happened.

Firefighters had to free Confessore from his car.

Troopers had not completed their accident report Thursday, they said.

The road was open for about 15 minutes Tuesday before another crash about two miles east closed it again.
