Quintiles names new president of commercial business

Quintiles has named a veteran of Deloitte Consulting as president of its Integrated Commercial Services and Solutions business that encompasses 6,600 employees.

W. Scott Evangelista, who was a principal and commercial practice leader in Deloitte’s life sciences practice, succeeds the retiring Rich Pilnik at Durham-based Quintiles.

Quintiles’ commercial business provides contract sales forces and other business services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology clinets.

Before he joined Deloitte, Evangelista founded and was management partner of a management consulting firm, Swiftwater Group. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in management information systems from Boston University.

Quintiles, the world’s largest pharmaceutical services company, has 28,000 employees worldwide, including nearly 2,300 in the Triangle.
