Former Time Warner exec to lead Raleigh education think tank

Keith Poston, formerly of Time Warner Cable, will take over as head of the Public School Forum of North Carolina, an education think tank in Raleigh.

“I have a real passion for education, always have,” Poston said, adding it’s a critical time for education both in North Carolina and nationally.

Poston will succeed Jo Ann Norris as president and executive director. Norris announced earlier this year that she is retiring.

Poston worked at Time Warner Cable for about four years. Most of that time, he was communications director. For the last nine months, he had been senior director of community investment. While at the cable company, Poston worked on projects promoting science, technology, engineering and mathematics education.

Poston “brings new ideas and approaches to address solutions to educational issues,” Forum board of directors Chairman Gene Arnold said in a statement. “Keith is a highly respected and qualified individual well versed in the issues facing us today. We all at the Forum are fortunate to have Keith as our new leader.”
