Here’s what’s hot on 800-CEOREAD.

You Can Kill an Idea, But You Can’t Kill an Opportunity: How to Discover New Sources of Growth for Your Organization, by Pam Henderson, John Wiley & Sons, 264 pages, $20: The message in this book, written by a former faculty member at Carnegie Mellon University, is to use “Opportunity Thinking” to increase speed to market for products, eliminate idea bottlenecks, value open innovation and increase creativity.

Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook: How to Tell Your Story in a Noisy Social World, by Gary Vaynerchuk, HarperBusiness, 229 pages, $17: The author is on a mission to strengthen marketers’ right hooks by changing the way they fight to make consumers happy and ultimately, to compete. Thanks to the massive change in and proliferation of social media platforms, the winning combination of jabs and right hooks is different now. Communication is still key, but context matters more than ever.
