Indians sign Marcum to Minor League deal

Cleveland, OH ( - The Cleveland Indians have signed pitcher Shaun Marcum to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Major League camp.

Marcum spent last season in the Big Apple as a member of the New York Mets and posted a 1-10 record with a 5.29 ERA in 14 games, 12 of which he started.

His 2013 campaign was cut short, however, as the 32-year old righty underwent surgery for Thoracic outlet syndrome, which causes pain in the shoulders and neck along with numbness in the fingers.

Marcum has compiled a 58-46 record with a 3.88 ERA and 806 strikeouts over an eight-year career with Toronto, Milwaukee, and New York.
