Man shot to death on Shoreham Street in Durham

— A man was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon in the 2600 block of East Shoreham Street, Durham police say.

Officers responded to a “shots fired” call at 2:21 p.m. and found the man lying in the street, Durham police said in a statement. The victim, who has been identified as Desmond Ramario Williams, 28, of Durham, was pronounced dead at the scene, which is south of downtown near Rockwood Park.

The fatal shooting comes a day after a man and woman were found shot to death in a home on Cheek Road in Durham.

The investigation is continuing.
