Police: Raleigh man sold teenage sex from Capital Boulevard hotel

From staff reportsDecember 17, 2013

— A Raleigh man is suspected of arranging the prostitution of a 17-year-old girl from the Sun Suites Hotel at 3215 Capital Blvd.

Raleigh police arrested Kewon Tremayne Perry, 21, late in October on charges of human trafficking and robbery with a dangerous weapon. A search warrant filed Dec. 9 described the sex crime of which Perry is accused.

Police original acted on information from a nonprofit human trafficking tip line early in October. Police found the teen described in the tip, and she said that a man named Kewon Perry had twice “posted” her to Backpage, a classified advertising website, according to the search warrant.

The teen said that she “had engaged in prostitution three times” at the Capital Boulevard hotel, with part of the payments for sexual acts going to Kewon Perry, the search warrant states.

Hotel records show that Perry rented rooms during the period of suspected prostitution, according to the search warrant. A search of Perry’s phone also turned up images that apparently showed him engaging in a sexual act with the teen, a search warrant states.

Perry also is charged with using a handgun to rob a woman of an iPad and a cell phone in October. He is being held without bail at the Wake County Detention Center.
