House Speaker Thom Tillis has picked up another endorsement from a key Republican in his bid to win the GOP nomination to challenge Democrat U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan.

N.C. Commissioner of Agriculture Steve Troxler announced his support at a campaign event in Raleigh on Wednesday night, according to Tillis’ campaign.

Troxler also announced the formation of Farmers for Tillis, which he will co-chair along with state Sen. Brent Jackson, a Republican who represents parts of Johnston, Sampson and Duplin counties; Rep. Jimmy Dixon, a Republican representing Wayne and Duplin counties; and Rep. Nathan Ramsey, a Republican from Buncombe County. All of those legislators are also farmers.
