ChiSox add reliever Belisario

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago White Sox signed right- handed reliever Ronald Belisario to a one-year contract worth $3 million on Thursday.

Belisario spent last season with the Dodgers, going 5-7 with a 3.97 earned run average in 77 appearances for the NL West champions before Los Angeles decided to non-tender the 30-year-old right-hander.

"Belisario provides us with a veteran reliever who owns a proven record of recording key outs at big moments of games," said White Sox senior vice president/general manager Rick Hahn. "He has experience pitching in hold and save situations, and we see him as yet another very strong option for Robin Ventura in the back end of our bullpen."

Belisario has pitched to a 20-12 record and 3.29 ERA in 273 games over four seasons, all with the Dodgers.

With the move, Chicago's roster is at 40.
