Girl Scouts plan supportive playgroups

December 22, 2013

Christine Cole and Kelli Hutson of Durham have received the Silver Award, the second highest achievement in Girl Scouting.

For their Silver Award project, Christine and Kelli planned and organized several playgroups at Family Support Network for children with disabilities and their parents. They conducted playgroups with different seasonal themes, such as autumn, Halloween, Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day. The playgroups were aimed at allowing children to play together and bringing parents together to meet and network for support.

Christine and Kelli are members of Troop 643, led by Michelle Autry and Beth Hutson.
