— Wake County sheriff's deputies have filed multiple felony drug charges against a man from whom they said an undercover officer began buying cocaine in November.

Efren Patricio Hernandez, 35, of 3031 Lake Woodard Drive in Raleigh was arrested Friday night at the Tower Shopping Center on New Bern Avenue, according to an arrest report.

In arrest warrants obtained by Investigator E.N. Sanchez, Hernandez is accused of eight counts of trafficking in cocaine, three of maintaining a 2001 Ford Explorer to keep or sell drugs, possession of cocaine with intent to sell or distribute it and other charges.

The warrants charge that Hernandez sold 14.5 grams of cocaine on Nov. 20, 33.5 grams on Dec. 5, and 36.2 grams on Dec. 11.

He was charged with simple cocaine possession when deputies arrested him and with missing a court appearance on an earlier misdemeanor charge.

Hernandez was being held in lieu of $477,350 bail and was to appear in court Monday.
