Wild's Parise to sit out second straight game

St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Minnesota Wild forward Zach Parise did not make the team's trip to Winnipeg for Friday's game against the Jets as he continues to battle a foot injury that has hampered him over the past month.

Parise, whose 27 points is tied for the team lead, initially hurt his foot when blocking a shot in a matchup against St. Louis on Nov. 25. The standout sniper only missed one previous game following the injury before being held out of Monday's 4-1 loss at Philadelphia.

Since Parise got hurt, the Wild have gone just 5-9-1 and recorded only 22 goals.

Parise's 15 goals trail only Jason Pominville's 17 among Minnesota players this season.

To add some needed depth to the forward ranks, the Wild recalled veteran Stephane Veilleux from AHL Iowa on Friday. The 32-year-old appeared in 11 games for Minnesota earlier in the season, but did not register a point while posting a minus-five rating.
