Thomas F. Crudele: Bye to Becoats

December 28, 2013

On Dec. 19 during the Durham school board meeting, Eric Becoats announced that he was resigning due to “fundamental differences regarding his leadership” (Dec. 20 news article). Are you kidding me? What leadership? Can Becoats seriously make that statement with a straight face? He obviously is in denial.

He misused the county’s school bus and misused the county’s credit card and had no idea what the balance was in the school budget, which cost the Durham taxpayers. To make matters worse, he will be given a $300,000 severance package for resigning. I am not sure why Becoats was awarded one, but I have a great suggestion: Donate it to the school board budget or to the Durham taxpayers who will have to pay for Becoats’ misdeeds!
