Friends make Eagle Scout together

Friends Ryan Chapman and Yacob Malik were granted the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Boy Scouting, at a joint ceremony.

For his Eagle project, Ryan designed and led construction of a mail cabinet for the teachers of St. Michael the Archangel School in Cary. Yacob built three hanging-rod shelves and a shoe rack for the Women’s Center of Wake County.

Ryan, the son of Steve and Lisa Chapman, and Yacob, the son of Amer and Michele Malik, are members of Troop 216. Ryan graduated from Enloe High School this year and now is a freshman at N.C. State University majoring in engineering. Yacob graduated from Apex High School and now is a freshman at UNC-Greensboro majoring in economics.
