Garner center applies to relocate 12 psychiatric beds

Posted by David Bracken on January 1, 2014

The Strategic Behavior Center in Garner is seeking approval from state regulators to add 12 psychiatric beds for children.

The beds would be relocated from Broughton Hospital in Morganton.

The Garner facility, which opened early last year, is currently licensed for 72 residential beds and 20 psychiatric beds.

State law requires Strategic Behavior Center to seek approval from the N.C. Division of Health Service Regulation, which will review its application.

If approved, the relocation of the beds is expected to be complete by March.
