Raleigh police want help identifying suspect in robbery attempt

Raleigh police have asked for the public’s help in identifying this man in connection with an attempted robbery.

RALEIGH POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Police, who have a surveillance photo of a suspect in a December robbery attempt, asked the public's help in identifying the man.

Detectives are looking for the man for firing shots into a vehicle as a victim fled after the man tried to rob him, police spokeswoman Laura Hourigan said.

The suspect is black and stands about 5-foot-7, has close-cropped hair and is clean-shaven and was last seen wearing a hooded black jacket and red pants, police said.

The robbery attempt happened Dec. 8 in the 1000 block of Hightower Street.

Anyone who believes they may know the identity of the suspect was asked to call Raleigh CrimeStoppers at 919-834-HELP (4357) or go to the website to find options for reporting by text and e-mail.
