David Crump: ACA worst ahead

January 2, 2014

I have been in the health insurance industry for over 20 years. To be brief, here is what’s really happening: The healthcare.gov website does not work even though President Obama decreed that it has been fixed as of Nov. 30.

Most of my customers trying to elect the new coverage via the website have not gotten through to secure it. Many who think they have coverage probably do not. The media have moved on to other topics. The young and healthy people who are supposed to support this scheme aren’t any more interested in signing up than they were before this law passed. Rates for 2015 will probably double again. The second shoe will drop next January: “No, you can’t keep your doctor either.”
