Some North Carolinians are seeing results of tax law changes made last year: Paychecks arriving Friday have new state income tax withholding amounts, which affect take home pay.
This is because lawmakers eliminated the graduated income tax and replaced it with a flat tax of 5.8 percent on all income for 2014.
Weve talked to a few people who noted their withholding amount actually went up. For others, it has gone down as expected.
Many people would have used this NC4EZ form to determine allowances, which determines withholding.
Weve created a brief survey for you to share the effect. Feel free to comment at the end.
