Sharon Lubkin: Artsy solution to bland building

January 4, 2014

Regarding Rob Christensen’s Dec. 29 column “McCrory rips capital eyesores”: The governor, like many of us, dislikes the Stalinist architecture of the State Records Center and its ugly kin downtown. How about a really cheap solution? Get the artists to adapt the Fantastic Sky Race (a mural on a parking deck on the corner of Davie and McDowell streets) to the dimensions of the State Records Center, and we can continue to enjoy it after its time on the parking deck.
