Ethics Commission appointments made

Gov. Pat McCrory appointed three people to the state Ethics Commission, his office announced Friday:

Judge Ralph Walker from Wake County is a former director of the state Administrative Office of the Courts. He has been an appellate court judge, was chair of the N.C. Dispute Resolution Commission, Guilford County Superior Court judge, and prosecutor.

Judge John M. Tyson from Cumberland County was appointed chairman; he is already on the commission. He was an appeals court judge and has been an on-call judge on the appellate court and superior court.

William P. Farthing Jr. of Mecklenburg County was the first full-time managing partner for the Parker Poe law firm, where he served on its board of directors for 20 years. He also established the firm’s regulatory section.
