Teen wins STAR award from P.E.O. Sisterhood

Claire Cooper, a 2013 graduate of Broughton High School in Raleigh, was awarded the P.E.O. STAR Scholarship.

The scholarship, worth $2,500, is awarded based on leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics and potential for future success.

Claire, the daughter of Roy and Kristin Cooper, planned to attend UNC-Chapel Hill. The P.E.O. Sisterhood is an international philanthropic organization that promotes educational opportunities for women. Claire’s scholarship was awarded by the group’s Chapter I in Raleigh.
