What to Watch on Monday: Juan Pablo Galavis is your new ‘Bachelor,’ America

Juan Pablo Galavis, the former Venezuelan soccer player, begins his search for his soul mate, choosing from among 27 beautiful bachelorettes, on the Season 18 premiere of “The Bachelor.”


The Bachelor (8pm, ABC) - Former “Bachelorette” contestant and dreamy single dad Juan Pablo Galavis gets a second chance at love as the Season 18 bachelor. In the opener, the former pro soccer player (and the first ethnic star of the ABC franchise) meets 27 female contenders, including a nurse, a hippie, a salsa dancer and a pregnant woman (!!!). Nine women are sent home after the rose ceremony.

Almost Human (8pm, Fox) - A serial killer uses the web to broadcast his victims’ final moments after strapping bombs to their necks, and Kennex is in danger of being added to the list of fatalities.

Hostages (9pm, CBS) - Two new back-to-back episodes wrap up Season 1 tonight. At 9, Duncan discovers Sandrine’s betrayal and uses it to his advantage to save his wife and daughter. At 10, the First Lady confronts Ellen just as she’s about to operate on the President.

Major Crimes (9pm, TNT) - In the first part of a two-part story, the squad races to stop a serial killer before he strikes again. Elsewhere, a game of chess turns dangerous.
