Police accuse man of stealing diamond ring from Cary store

— Police are searching for a man they say walked out of a jewelry store with a diamond ring last week.

The unidentified man stole the ring, valued at thousands of dollars, from Joint Venture Jewelry on Grande Heights Drive on Dec. 28, according to the Cary Police Department.

The suspect is described by police as a “heavy-built white male” last seen wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, black pants with an emblem on one pocket and a Duke University baseball cap, with tattoos on both hands. He left the store in a dark four-door car, according to police.
