Duke Raleigh Hospital President Gannotta to lead Northwestern Memorial in Chicago

Duke Raleigh Hospital President Richard Gannotta will lead the 894-bed Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago after seven years with Duke University’s health system.

Northwestern Memorial cited the Triangle health care veteran’s track record in boosting Duke’s market share and his role in recruiting physicians. Duke Raleigh Hospital, with 186 beds, competes for doctors and patients with Rex Hospital and WakeMed Health and Hospitals.

Gannotta, a nurse practitioner with a doctorate in health administration, joined Duke Raleigh in 2006 as chief operating officer and became president in 2013. He is a former administrator at WakeMed.
