Rays sign Jayson Nix to minor league deal

St. Petersburg, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tampa Bay Rays signed infielder Jayson Nix to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Nix spent the past two seasons as a utility man for the Yankees. He hit .236 with nine doubles, three homers and 24 RBI in 87 games last year.

In 425 career games with the Rockies, White Sox, Indians, Blue Jays and Yankees, Nix has hit. 218 with 55 doubles, 37 homers and 126 RBI.
