January 10, 2014

— A Garner man is accused of stealing $2,000 of Natural Light, an economy-priced beer, from his employer.

The state’s Alcohol Law Enforcement agency suspects that Maurice Benton Goldston, 52, took two pallets of the beer that had been delivered to R.A. Jeffreys, according to an arrest warrant.

An arrest report describes Goldston as a delivery driver. He was arrested Friday on suspicions that he took the beer from his employer on Thursday, a warrant states. He also was charged Friday with using a company vehicle without permission on Dec. 20, an arrest warrant states.

Goldston, 52, of 134 Kimeo Way in Garner, faces felony charges of larceny, larceny by employee, receiving stolen goods, possessing stolen goods and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

He was being held Friday at the Wake County Detention Center on $153,000 bond.
