Target deal on General Mills cereal

Posted by Amy Dunn on January 12, 2014

Target has a generous deal on General Mills cereals this week that rewards you with a $5 Target gift card when you buy three boxes.

After coupons and multiple store discounts, the cereal ends up being as low as 38 cents per box.

Here’s the deal:

Buy three boxes of GM cereal or granola. Select 11-12.7 varieties are part of the promotion, including Multi-Grain Cheerios.

The circular price on the cereal is $3 per box but my store in Apex had the Multi-Grain Cheerios priced at $2.94

Total for 3 boxes: $8.82

Minus three .75/1 coupons from Sunday’s Smart Source insert = $6.57

Minus a 5% Cartwheel discount offered on Target’s Cartwheel discount app = $6.12

Minus 5-cent bring-your-own bag credit = $6.07

Plus 2% sales tax = $6.14

Minus $5 gift card = $1.14 for three boxes of cereal.

That breaks down to 38 cents per box.
