Raleigh police charge man in string of apartment burglaries

From staff reportsJanuary 13, 2014

— A 24-year-old man is accused of being in on some burglaries in which a woman was arrested last week, as well as other crimes.

Arrest warrants that police obtained for Carlton Bryson Perry said he had no permanent address, and he was at the Super 8 motel at 3804 New Bern Ave. when police arrested him Friday.

The warrants accused Perry of five apartment break-ins and larcenies in which Katherine Amelia White, 25, was charged late last week.

He also is accused along with White of selling stolen golf clubs to a sporting goods store, which brought a charge of obtaining property by false pretenses.

He also is accused of having the same burglar’s tools that police charged White with having.

Other charges against Perry alone include a Nov. 21 break-in and larceny and possession of stolen property, which was the bag for the golf clubs.

Perry was being held in lieu of $200,000 bond and was due to a first court appearance Monday.
