Statistically speaking: Small-business employees and social networks

GFI Software, a global company that provides information technology solutions to businesses, sponsored a survey last fall of 1,119 U.S. adults who work for small companies on their personal and professional technology use. Here is what the respondents said:

75% said mobile computing has improved their lives because they can work from anywhere.

25% said mobile technology has made life more stressful because it’s harder to escape work.

33% said they use social networks for personal reasons while they are working.

18% admitted this makes them less productive.
