Aldi deals, Jan. 15-21

Aldi stores in the Triangle have great deals this week on produce, including carrots, mushrooms, grapefruit and red potatoes.

Plus, the 99-cent pineapple is back. It’s my No. 1 favorite deal at Aldi. Hands down.

Aldi shopping tips:

Aldi does not accept coupons or provide bags. Bring your own reusable bags and a quarter to rent a cart. Your coin will be returned when you return the cart to the corral near the front door.

This week's top deals:

Bananas: 44 cents per pound.

Carrots: 69 cents for 2-lb. bag!

Mushrooms: 79 cents for 8-oz. package.

Pineapple: 99 cents each! Fantastic.

Red potatoes: $1.69 for 5-lb. bag. That’s 34 cents per pound.

Grapefruit: $1.79 for a 5-lb. bag. That’s 36 cents per pound.

Organic grape tomatoes: $1.99 per pint.

Organic spring mix or baby spinach: $2.49 for 5-oz. package.

Frozen corn, green beans or peas (16 oz.): 95 cents. A good price.

Croutons (5 oz.): 89 cents.

Laundry detergent (50 oz.): $1.99. A good price.

Wednesday meat special:

Fresh turkey tenderloins: $5.99 for 30 oz. package.

Hormel pork butt roast: $1.49 per pound.
