Orange County man charged in Raleigh seizure of 9.9 pounds of marijuana

From staff reportsJanuary 15, 2014

— Police arrested an Orange County man with what they said was just under 10 pounds of marijuana in an SUV on Tuesday afternoon.

Sean Ashley Mosher, 34, of 9318 Bracken Lane, west of Carrboro, was stopped in the 2100 block of Milburnie Road, according to an arrest report.

According to an arrest warrant that police obtained, Mosher had 4,494 grams of marijuana, which is 9.9 pounds.

He was charged with possession with intent to sell or distribute the drug and with maintaining the 2004 Nissan Armada as a place to keep or sell drugs.

The amount police said they found was a tenth of a pound under the weight that could have raised the charge to trafficking in marijuana, a more serious felony.

A magistrate set Mosher’s bail at $25,000, and he was being held in the county detention center for a first court appearance Wednesday.
