Raleigh man passed threatening note to rob Walmart, police say

— Police have charged 32-year-old Che Omar Bland of Raleigh with passing a threatening note to a Walmart employee and then making off with $11,971 in late November.

Bland, of 3014 Worth Place, faces one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon in the Nov. 26 heist.

According to an arrest warrant, Bland gave a store worker a note suggesting the employee would face “bodily harm & death” if Bland did not get money.

Police arrested Bland in the 300 block of South McDowell Street about 10 a.m. Wednesday.

He was being held in the Wake County Detention Center in lieu of $200,000 bail and was to have a first court appearance Thursday afternoon.
