Highwoods Properties announced Thursday that it will build a 75,000-square-foot office building for Biologics Inc. in its Weston development in Cary.

The Raleigh real estate investment trust plans to invest $14.9 million in the project. Biologics, a privately- held oncology services company, will occupy the entire building, which is being built on a 7-acre site that Highwoods owns.

Highwoods owns a total of eight office buildings in Weston that contain 745,000 square feet, 95 percent of which is occupied.

The company is also constructing a new $110 million headquarters for MetLife in Weston that will include two buildings and 427,000 square feet. Highwoods still has 94 acres of land available for development in Weston.
