Weekend wake up: Home court advantage

Posted by Laura Keeley on January 17, 2014

When North Carolina State comes to Cameron this weekend, the Wolfpack will be trying to end quite the home losing streak to Mike Krzyzewski. It has been nearly 26 years since N.C. State topped him and his Blue Devils in Durham—that’s longer than yours truly has been alive (note that the results from the 19 games he did not coach in 1995 fall under Pete Gaudet’s record, not Krzyzewski’s).

Boston College has not won in Cameron in its five tries since joining the ACC—other than that, the Wolfpack’s streak (which spans 21 games) stands alone in terms of longevity. Here’s a look at the most recent wins in Cameron versus Krzyzewski for the all ACC teams (Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Notre Dame have yet to play in Cameron as members of the conference):

North Carolina - March 3, 2012 (88-70)

Miami - Feb. 5, 2012 (78-74, OT)

Florida State - Jan. 21, 2012 (76-73)

Maryland - Feb. 28, 2007 (85-77)

Virginia Tech - Jan. 6, 2007 (69-67, OT)

Georgia Tech - March 3, 2004 (76-68)

Wake Forest - Jan. 11, 1997 (81-69)

Clemson - Jan. 4, 1995 (75-70)

Virginia - Jan. 17, 1993 (77-69)

N.C. State - Feb. 6, 1988 (77-74)

Boston College - never (joined the ACC for the 2006-07 season)
