• Center Al Jefferson became the first player in Charlotte Bobcats history to assemble a double-double (10 points and 10 rebounds) in the first quarter. The last time any NBA player did that, it was Reggie Evans (points and rebounds) late last season, playing for the Brooklyn Nets.
• The Bobcats arent getting much these days from rookie Cody Zeller, the fourth overall pick in Junes draft. Zeller played 15 minutes against the Raptors, finishing with two points, two assists and a rebound. He never attempted a shot from the field.
• Bobcats coach Steve Clifford made a point of saying pre-game that Chris Douglas-Roberts would play more shooting guard, since Ramon Sessions would now start at the point. It was telling that Ben Gordon never played Monday. Gordon has sat for 11 of the last 12 games.
You have to wonder, if Gordons expiring contract is not dealt at the trade deadine, if it would be in everyones best interest to waive him as a courtesy to a veteran.
• Eight of the Bobcats 18 victories this season have come against the Atlantic Division, by far the worst of six divisions in the NBA.
