Calgary, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - The Calgary Flames provided some security for forward Matt Stajan, signing him to a four-year contract on Monday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team, but multiple outlets in Canada reported it was worth $12.5 million for the duration.

Stajan, who was set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season, has posted seven goals and 17 points in 41 games but clocks in with a minus-18 rating, third-worst on the club.

Since breaking into the NHL with the Maple Leafs during the 2002-03 campaign, the 30-year-old native of suburban Toronto has accumulated 116 goals and 328 points over 693 contests.
