Durham police seize 2 pounds of methamphetamine, charge man with trafficking

— Police detectives charged a 22-year-old man with trafficking in methamphetamine early Wednesday and seized just under 2 pounds of the drug.

Rafael Inzunza Lopez was being held in lieu of $5 million bail after his arrest.

Police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said investigators found about 900 grams of methamphetamine – about 1.98 pounds – with a street value of about $30,000.

Lopez was charged with four counts of trafficking in meth and two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and distribute it, records showed.

The arrest resulted from a long-term investigation of meth trafficking, Michael said.
